My choice of drink for the summer is an Iced Grande Coffee with Cream and Sugar. Which leads me to a dilema. Should I or shouldn’t I move forward on the purchase of a local coffee house in the Fort Mill area. It’s not me personally, but the ministry that I manage plus a group of individuals.

I really think it could be a wonderful thing for our ministry, group of investors and the community of Fort Mill. I think it would be fun, could promote our ministry and give people in Fort Mill a really nice place to hang out. I have serious doubts on the financial success and worry that it could be a drain on resources and time for our current operation.

I read a Harvard Business Review recently that had a very good article on How to fix Capitalism. It was very good and really brings up a lot of the issues I’m dealing with now. Will this coffee shop improve the bottom line of our core business? Does it matter if we just break even or lose a few bucks, but we end up doing a great thing for our local community?

I’m hoping to have a decision made to move forward or politely decline in the next few days. Stay Tuned and see how the Iced Grande Coffee with Cream and Sugar is moving on to the next generation.
